They tend to reach capacity shortly after they are announced, so we strongly recommend registering to attend this training as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to get a seat. Property insurance is essential to cover damages from natural disasters, vandalism, or other incidents. Workers’ compensation insurance is necessary if staff are employed, providing coverage for work-related injuries or illnesses.

That’s why we created the Power Forward Sober Living Scholarship. Our Scholarship provides your first three to six weeks of sober housing for those in recovery. Helen Barry, Maryellen Tango-Yianacopolus, and I took a drive to the Cape to visit a very special house. Sandalwood offers a safe and supportive environment for women to focus on recovery. Yet for many, the cost of sober housing can be a barrier to recovery. Ongoing peer support to help individuals maintain sobriety and stay engaged in their recovery. MASH partners with MassHousing’s CCRI initiative and the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) to certify homes and provide technical assistance, ensuring grantees meet high standards.

• They provide each tenant with a free gym membership to Rocky’s Gym and offer complimentary yoga classes at the house.
• During the inspection, MASH reviewers will assess your home’s physical condition, review documentation, and interview you and/or your peer leaders to ensure that policies are being implemented as written.

A History of the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing

Before MASH will certify your sober home, your property must pass a detailed on-site inspection. The inspection verifies that your home complies with MASH standards for safety, governance, peer support, and resident rights. Understanding certification and compliance is vital for operators, policymakers, and residents. At Rise Again it is our mission to assist women and families during their journey of recovery.

• Independent Chartered Operators meet the same high standards and practices as VSL’s staff-managed homes.
• MASH was formed in 2007 when a group of sober home operators recognized the need for consistent standards and greater accountability within the sober housing community.

• While not mandated by state law, obtaining appropriate coverage mitigates risks.

Rise Again: Structured Sober Living Scholarships for Women

We strive to create a mutual respect and accountability culture where residents can feel comfortable and secure in their journey toward lasting recovery. Through community involvement, holistic wellness practices, and evidence-based therapies, we aim to help our residents build the foundation for a fulfilling and sustainable life in recovery. 27.d Documentation that residents are formally linked with the community such as job search, education, family services, health and/or housing programs. Join our sober living community or refer a client, family member, or friend. Submit an application online and receive a call back within 24 Substance abuse hours.

An electronic signature is required at the end of the application to certify your agreement to all standards and policies. If there are any changes to the sober home policies or sober home management, please notify MASH to update our files. An increase in beds will require an additional inspection to the sober home. Women move through distinct program phases as they progress and prepare to reintegrate into the community. Nicki’s Place is a MASH-certified home located close to MBTA bus and train lines.
